Farming for their future
After years of offering successful overnight programs May through September, Red Gate Farm is poised to serve many more children year-round. We are constructing a new program building and winterized student housing that will enable us to serve school groups and community families with even better resources, all through the year.
Imagine being able to show children that farms don’t stop working when the snow flies, how to make maple syrup from sap, start early plants indoors when the ground is frozen, and hold that baby lamb just hours after birth. It is a transformative time for the Farm and for all who are passionate about teaching and mentoring young people.
Join us as we invest in our facilities as a critical step in ensuring our growth and connecting us with more children, families, and teachers.

The Buildings
Program Building: With 3,900 square feet, our new program building will accommodate up to 100 people, doubling our current capacity. It will include a dining hall, space for workshops, classrooms, special group activities, and music performances. Amenities will offer ample space to process and prepare over 5,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables from our gardens annually.
Winterized Student Housing: Farming is a year-round activity and our expanded facilities will allow us to accommodate 40 children and four adult chaperones throughout the calendar year. We anticipate expanding our student visits by 1,200 children each year. In addition to sleeping quarters, the new building will offer showers, a laundry facility, and bathrooms.
To offer access to all visitors, our Program Building and Winterized Student Housing will be fully ADA-compliant.
A spacious, better equipped program building and winterized overnight accommodations will help enrich the lives of children and families locally, regionally, and across New England and the Northeast.
